ViralVideoChart.com collects viewing and linking data on videos posted online and tries to quantify how fast they spread in order to identify the newest memes. This is how their chart looks right now, a couple of hours after President Bush dodged shoes thrown by Iraqi journalist poet:
Today, as the Iraq war starts its sixth year, and only a short time before the 4000th American soldier is inevitably killed in action, I thought I would share a song by Pink, an open letter to the person who had a lot to do with the predicament the world is in right now:
Dear Mr. President – Pink -- Lyrics
Dear Mr. President, Come take a walk with me. Let’s pretend we’re just two people and You’re not better than me. I’d like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly.
What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street? Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep? What do you feel when you look in the mirror? Are you proud?
How do you sleep while the rest of us cry? How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye? How do you walk with your head held high? Can you even look me in the eye And tell me why?
Dear Mr. President, Were you a lonely boy? Are you a lonely boy? Are you a lonely boy? How can you say No child is left behind? We’re not dumb and we’re not blind. They’re all sitting in your cells While you pave the road to hell.
What kind of father would take his own daughter’s rights away? And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay? I can only imagine what the first lady has to say You’ve come a long way from whiskey and cocaine.
How do you sleep while the rest of us cry? How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye? How do you walk with your head held high? Can you even look me in the eye?
Let me tell you ’bout hard work Minimum wage with a baby on the way Let me tell you ’bout hard work Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away Let me tell you ’bout hard work Building a bed out of a cardboard box Let me tell you ’bout hard work Hard work Hard work You don’t know nothing ’bout hard work Hard work Hard work Oh
How do you sleep at night? How do you walk with your head held high? Dear Mr. President, You’d never take a walk with me. Would you?
With all the excitement of an Israeli film nominated for an Academy Award for the first time in twenty years, I did not pay enough attention to the Documentary Feature category: Three out of five films nominated deal directly with the Iraqi conflict, including ‘No End in Sight‘, which I wrote about in a post titled ‘Watch This Film and Become a Better Citizen of the World in 90 Minutes‘. If you were not persuaded to follow my advice then, with an Oscar nomination you really have no excuse now.
The 80th Academy Awards telecast, hosted by Jon Stewart (Leibowitz), will be broadcasted live: USA -- February 24th, 5PT/8ET, ABC Israel -- February 25th, 3am, Hot Gold (channel 12)
I was watching this live on CNN, and was bumfuzzled for a second, but no worries, Mandela is alive and well, but not according to Bush’s press conference this morning:
I thought an interesting comment was made - somebody said to me, I heard somebody say, “Now, where’s Mandela?” Well, Mandela’s dead because Saddam Hussein killed all the Mandelas.

Among many other items I purchased from Amazon.com, one arrived with the plastic cover broken. They sent me an additional item, free of charge, no questions asked, and suggested I donate the broken one to a local library.I like Amazon.com. I trust them. They have everything. Ship anywhere.
